Who We Are
Simonson Marketing & Entertainment is headed by Bob Simonson, Jr. of
Grand Rapids, MI. Discovering a passion for radio broadcasting and the
media in general while a freshman in college, Bob has been involved in many
aspects of the radio broadcasting business over the last 25 plus years.
Forming alliances with Audience Development Group, one of the most respected
consulting groups in the country along with experienced writers and content
providers, SME is becoming a world class provider of both traditional medium to
interface with your NTR projects, but also syndication of programming as well.
Our
History
Beginning in 1994 with American Country, the concept of affordable
branded tabloids for radio grew. Publishing Services Inc., the founder of
American Country Magazine, New Christian Music Spotlight, Oldies Flashback and
Magic Memories grew through the 90's, providing custom tabloids to over 100
stations. With changes in the economy and consolidation, the business
model of PSI changed and in 2004, the rights to these tabloids along with
a local publication, Revue Entertainment Magazine, were acquired by Bruce Law in
2004. It was during this time that the founder of SME joined Law's
organization and begin to market the tabloids to stations on a national basis.
In October 2006 Bruce Law turned over the rights of all the branded station
magazines to Bob Simonson, who formed Simonson Marketing & Entertainment.
Our Future Goals
At present there are plans to develop a alternative rock product entitled
New Rock and a Adult Urban Contemporary project called URBN, continuing with two
local monthly West Michigan branded tabloids, New Christian Music Spotlight for
WAYG-WAYK WaYfm of Cornerstone University and an upcoming tabloid for
Urban AC WJNZ Jamz 1140 entitled Voice Of The City.
In addition to our print product, it is our intent to forge ahead the
alliance we have developed with Latstan Publishing and their electronic
"Flipper" magazine content to provide stations with an on line - interactive
magazine for direct mail or embedding in the station web site.
